In April 2023, Jiang Duntao, Vice Mayor of Chongqing Municipality and member of the Party Group, went to the Western Science City (Beibei Section) of Chongqing to research and study the construction of the Western Science City, inspect the major scientific and technological infrastructures, innovation platforms, and industrial parks, and have in-depth exchanges with the relevant personnel in charge and experts, so as to push forward the further in-depth fusion of scientific and technological innovations with the development of the industry.

Western Science City is President Xi guiding the Chengdu-Chongqing region to cooperate and build a major strategic project, is the strategic platform of Chongqing Hi-tech Zone.
